To my eternal annoyance this site still comes up on Google first instead of the site that I update on a regular basis, Bloggin' Buffy. Go there! Don't come here! I don't update this site any longer. Much goodness is to be found at Bloggin' Buffy instead.

After much trial & error, hardship, gnashing of teeth and tearing of hair, my new Bloggin' Buffy site(powered by Blogger) is up and running. You really should start reading that instead of this because 1.) it's prettier and easier to read and 2.) I won't be updating this one anymore.

So, follow me!

UPDATE: I've decided to start using Blogger and I'm moving everything over to my ISP's pages, so please update your bookmarks to my new page.
See you there!

I've extensively screen capped some DIVX versions of the promos for next week's Buffy & Angel.  Last week when I did this I just loaded the files onto my @home server.  This week I've put them in my Yahoo photo area, but I'm not sure about the quality.  I have this sneaking suspicion they reduce the resolution of loaded images. I'm going to screen cap all of the promos for the final four episodes so if you seriously believe the @home photos from last week look better than this week's Yahoo photos, please drop me a line.

Kita wrote me yesterday after reading my guestbook entry on Fandomwhore's diary, so I thought I'd pimp her latest site, Almighty Gah!  It's a portal to the other sites she's involved with such as Slashing the Angel and a handy place to bookmark if you love our favorite vamps Angel & Spike and like your fiction slasherrific.

I've nearly completed downloading a DIVX of Intervention so I'll be screen capping some Spikey goodness soon.  Expect a link by the weekend, since I'm going to see U2 tonight and won't have time.  Warning:  the U2 site is slooooow to load.  Rock on!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention...I totally blew off going out to see The Prime Gig on Tuesday night in favor of staying home and watching Buffy & Angel when they aired.  But I'm sure you'd guessed that anyway.

Angel - Dead End

Cordy, Linds.  Linds, Cordy.  I can never remember whether it is Lindsey or Lindsay so I'm just gonna call him Linds from now on since you know that's what Angel calls him when no one else is around.  Speaking of nicknames, did you notice that when Buffy posing as the BuffyBot said Willow put her back together that Spike automatically referred to her with the diminutive Will?  But I digress.

Usually it's a bad sign when I bust out crying before the credits have even started, but fortunately it was not a tissue fest last night.  Cordelia huddled in Angel's arms before the credits just about tore my heart out, but goofy, smiling, snarkelicious Angel and his favorite person to demonstrate a choke hold on made it all better.  Getting not one, but two scenes of lingering shots of Linds in bed shirtless didn't hurt either.  I'm annoyed about the guitar though.  The guitar was not there the last time we saw the inside of Linds' closet and it makes me wonder why he would be moving it around from place to place if he can't play it.

That Christian Kane fella sure can sing, can't he?  Why the hell haven't I managed to drag myself out to see his band play yet?

I'm not going to get into the logistics of the plot because it isn't likely to stand up well under any kind of serious examination.  Or flimsy examination for that matter.  In fact, it was just plain silly.  So I'm just going to talk about Cordy, Linds and Angel, since I don't think Wesley and Gunn were in this episode.  At least I don't recall seeing them, do you?  Were they in the credits? Heh.

Aww shit, what the hell is there to really say about this episode.  Cordy & Angel were adorable together.  Lindsay and Angel were adorable together.  Cordy was adorable watching Lindsay. Angel looks adorable when he smiles.  Lilah is a waste of space and should die terribly and die soon.  Tune in next week for Cordy in an ugly bikini and Angel in over-protective older brother mode.

My mind has turned to mush.

Buffy - Intervention

We are so vindicated!!

As a formerly delusional and now prescient Spike Redemptionista, I've been walking around with a "cat that ate the canary" grin on my face all morning.  I'm sure everyone thinks I'm insane.  I've been dreading Spike-Buffybot sex for months, but I have to admit that Spike was hot last night.  He was hot, heroic, hurt, touching, pathetic and beautiful.  And now I fear for his unlife.

But I'm going to ignore my fears and enjoy the wonder of Buffy kissing Spike of her own free will.  Yes, the robot was gross and obscene and yes it shone a spotlight on the patheticness that is Spike, but more than anything it revealed what a lonely vampire we have on our hands.  Ostracized by his own kind and the Scoobie and ultimately dumped by both Drucilla and Harmony, is it any wonder he hasn't staked himself already?  I think it is becoming more and more clear that it is Spike who has the death wish he told Buffy about in Fool for Love, but I said I was going to ignore my fears, didn't I?

Happily, I think Spike finally hit his emotional bottom in Intervention so I don't think we'll have any more pathetic Spike to grimace about for the final episodes.

In the MBTV Buffy forums, we often discuss the multiple meanings of the episode titles.  What's interesting about this episode is the intervention alluded to in the Scoobies' discussion of Buffy's behaviour doesn't even occur because as we all know, that wasn't Buffy boinking Spike.  The real intervention occurs when Buffy rescues Spike from his own downward spiral by finally acknowledging that he has done something real.  Of course he's been doing real, heart-felt things on her behalf for some time now, but this is the first time she's been able to accept it.

The First Slayer's message to Buffy is in three parts: that she needs to accept love, not reject it;  she needs to forgive; and death is her gift.  Of course, everyone is having a fit that this last part refers to Buffy's own death or the death of someone close to her, but I tend to think it has more to do with Spike's comment in Fool for Love that "Death is your art".  Buffy is a martial "artist" and death is more than an ending.  It's a release from the bonds of physical being, a transformation into some other form of being.  For the moment I'm going to assume that Spike is not involved in Buffy's gift because that would pretty much make the show all about Spike and I'm just not that delusional, although I'm working on it.  I think he does have much to do though with the First Slayer's exhortations that Buffy needs to accept love and offer forgiveness.  The brief kiss embodied not only acceptance and forgiveness, but grace.

Maybe I should have said the last two episodes and the next two episodes for some Cordy/Angel lovin', huh? More later.

When it comes to Angel, I tend to be an equal-opportunity shipper because I think he works with nearly anyone. That said though, Cordelia is not often the first person that springs to mind. In light of the past two episodes however, I'm starting to reconsider. She'll never replace Angel's first love Lindsey (or is that Spike, I can't decide), but she'll do in a pinch. I happened upon Angelic Attentions today when I should be hard at work and it is the damned cutest Angel/Cordy site ever. Go look!

Woohoo! I changed the background. The red was starting to look obnoxious to my eyes and I deleted the image files as well to improve the load time. Rather pathetic how slow this page loads with a measly two image files on it. Pitas needs to allow image hosting.

I was taking a little tour of Slashing the Angel this evening when I found a little rant about a certain upstart diarist on diaryland. The entries are full of enough vitriol & bile to make me cackle insanely with joy and the fervent wish that I had that kind of nerve. While bashing a little heavily on certain folks, the anonymous diarist does make some very valid points and states them so well that I'm guessing she (I'm so certain it is a she) is probably one of the better slash fic writers fulfilling her need to vent some steam.

I’m so thoroughly spoiled for Intervention tomorrow night that I don’t even need to watch the episode. I’ve read the wild feed summary and the close captions and I’ve watched the Buffy in a Flash and I’ve looked at screen captures of the final scene of the episode. And yet, I’m still going out of my mind with worry that my VCR might fail me tomorrow evening. “And why on earth are you going out?” you might ask.

Believe me, I’m asking myself the same thing and part of me is even considering not going out, but I think I’ll likely talk myself out of that course of action. For you see, tomorrow night I have a ticket to see The Prime Gig starring Vince Vaughn and Ed Harris at the Los Angeles Film Festival. I bought my ticket weeks ago and never paid any mind at all to what day of the week I’d be attending because of course we were in the middle of rerun heck. I don’t think I’ll be blowing it off though as its only playing the one night and who knows, maybe Ed Harris and Vince Vaughn will show up. Stranger things have happened.

I will be home in time for Angel however and if I hurry I might even catch the last 10 minutes of Buffy. I won’t say why I’m so eager just to see those 10 minutes but all you spoiler-whores certainly know why!
